In this Revit Tutorial, we are going to learn how use Trim/Extend to Corner. Trim/Extend to Corner is very useful tool and one of the most often used tool in Revit. Most often times people confused with the Trim/Extend command in AutoCAD (Please DON'T). In Revit There are several Trim/Extend commands and it works little differently. If you just start learning Revit, it might take some practice to understanding the concept. But don't worry, you will get the concept after watching short video attached in this post. In addition, I will post some sample images so you to practice after watching video.

Revit Tutorial (REVIT 2017): How to use Keyboard Shortcut and How to Customize it.


In this video, we are going to learn how to use Keyboard Shortcut in REVIT and how to customize it. As like most of design software, REVIT also have Keyboard shortcut and users can customize their keyboard shortcut as they prefer. 



Unlike AutoCAD, you don't have to press "Enter" after keyboard shortcut. It will only repeat the last command. Therefore, make sure that you don't press "Enter" after you typed the keyboard shortcut. Press ESC key if you want to exit from the command.

Using keyboard shortcut will save you lots of time. So it is important that you get familiar with REVIT shortcut and how to customize it.

Before beginning the REVIT tutorial, we like to share what is the greatest benefit of using REVIT.  When the Architecture Firms hiring new interns or new comer, they want someone with the REVIT knowledge. The Architecture firms still using AutoCAD and it will be stay that way until they are comfortable of doing projects fully in REVIT.
 
You must Know how to use AutoCAD before getting into the architecture firm and this  is required almost every time.  What about the REVIT? Over the year lots of Architecture firms starting to use REVIT which means they want someone efficient with AutoCAD and some knowledge in the REVIT.

Then why these Architecture firm wants to hire someone with the REVIT knowledge? It is because they know the benefits of using REVIT in their projects. Within many benefits that the REVIT provides, immediate reflection through out all the working drawings. Unlike the AutoCAD, one simple floor plan drawings can generates section, elevations, and 3D view. In addition, if you made changes in the drawing, one change immediate effects other drawings. 

This way, the firms will save the time and money. This is why we must learn REVIT.
